NEVADO DE TOLUCA

On this journey, our mountain guides will explain the local flora and fauna, geological history, and share the legend of “Tlanchana and Xinan.” You will also learn some mountaineering techniques to improve your walking. At the difficult level, we do not provide explanations and focus solely on the summit ascent.

Lagoon Trail

An easily accessible route to the lagoons of Nevado de Toluca. We start the hike from the second checkpoint, located in the upper part of the volcano, ascending to Paso de Quetzal. From there, we descend to the Moon Lagoon, continue to the Sun Lagoon, take a break for lunch, and then return to the checkpoint via Paso de Quetzal.

Campanario Trail

A route to the upper Campanario. We start the hike from the second checkpoint, ascending to Paso de Quetzal, then descending to the Moon Lagoon. From there, we head towards the Campanario, located on the eastern ridge, continue to the Sun Lagoon, take a break for lunch, and then return to the checkpoint via Paso de Quetzal.

Summit Trail

A route to the summit. We start the hike from the second checkpoint, ascending to Paso de Quetzal, then descending to the Moon Lagoon. From there, we head towards the Campanario, located on the eastern ridge, and continue along a steep ridge where we encounter climbing sections and technical steps. Upon reaching the summit, we proceed to the Sun Lagoon, take a break for lunch, and then return to the checkpoint via Paso de Quetzal.

NOTE: Snowfall depends on local weather conditions (Climate Change) and is rare.
