A THOUSAND WATERFALLS

mil_edited.png

Do you want to experience a weekend full of adventure? Just a short distance from Taxco, you'll find a natural paradise with turquoise-colored waterfalls and pools.

Located in the southwest of Mexico, Guerrero is a state famous for its incredible beach destinations like Acapulco and Ixtapa, as well as its charming Magic Town, Taxco, a picturesque city widely known as the Mexican silver capital.

This time, we'll focus on Taxco, and particularly on the side that few people know about. This destination also has hidden natural paradises that will take your breath away, where you can connect with nature and engage in activities like canyoning, hiking, and rappelling. One of these places is Las Granadas, also known as Mil Cascadas (Thousand Waterfalls).

Challenge your fears: Canyoning and Rappelling.

Las Granadas or Mil Cascadas is less than an hour away from the city of Taxco and is one of the best places in the state to fully enjoy ecotourism.

Once there, you'll find a cave that houses a crystal-clear pool of water. The best time to visit is after the rainy season, when the pool has enough water. But, be warned: you’ll need to jump six meters as it's the only way to take a dip.

After the cave tour, the adventure through Mil Cascadas begins. The journey starts in a crystal-clear turquoise pool and continues downhill, where you’ll find 10 more pools and waterfalls that only increase in beauty.

To reach each of these waterfalls, you can walk along dirt and rocky paths that aren't too difficult to navigate. However, we recommend wearing non-slip shoes to avoid slipping. If you're daring or want to challenge your fears, you can rappel down some of the waterfalls. One of the most impressive has a 35-meter drop, making it perfect for this type of activity.

At the end of the aquatic activity, we'll head to Taxco, Gro. for lunch in the beautiful town center, surrounded by stunning silverware and the enchanting architecture of a Magic Town. (2 hours of free time)

The return to CDMX is around 10 p.m.
