SENDEROS IZTACCÍHUATL

Discover the Natural Wonders of the Iztaccíhuatl Trails

Embark on an unforgettable journey through one of Mexico's most iconic landscapes. During this guided experience, you will explore the trails of the majestic Iztaccíhuatl volcano, surrounded by stunning scenery ranging from lush conifer forests to clearings with crystal-clear springs. Under the expert guidance of our certified team, you will learn essential mountaineering and hiking techniques, ideal for both beginners and those looking to perfect their skills.

On this tour, you will not only be amazed by spectacular views of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, but also have the chance to capture unforgettable moments with your camera while breathing in the fresh mountain air. Along the trails, you will discover the area's rich biodiversity, home to species such as squirrels, foxes, eagles, and a wide variety of songbirds. During certain seasons, the forest bursts into vibrant colours with flowers like the Yellow Mountain Daisy (Senecio mairietinus), Purple Bellflower (Penstemon gentianoides), and fungi that emerge after the rains.

Manantiales and Waterfalls Trail

If you choose the Manantiales Trail, you’ll be treated to a unique natural spectacle: hidden waterfalls cascading between rocks and ferns, perfect for taking a break while listening to the soothing sound of water. This 13.5 km route, with a maximum altitude of 3,951 metres, offers a moderate challenge with visual and sensory rewards at every step.

Alpine Hike for Height Lovers

The Alpine Trail is ideal for those seeking a shorter but equally captivating hike. With 8.4 km and a maximum altitude of 3,991 metres, this route offers panoramic views that will make you feel on top of the world.

Recreational Workshop for Beginners

In addition to enjoying the natural surroundings, you can participate in a workshop where you’ll learn:

  • The culture of mountaineering and how to respect and care for these spaces.

  • Marching techniques for more efficient ascents and descents.

  • How to consciously connect with the mountainous environment.

This journey is perfect whether you’re going solo, with friends, or with family! With routes designed for different levels of difficulty, each hike is an invitation to enjoy, learn, and reconnect with nature.
